18th February 2012 - Back at The Garrick's Head, Urmston!
Thanks for a great night!

'To all of you, a big thank you for giving us a night to remember! Not only good, well played music that was well sung, you entertained the crowd as well. Very good! I will be recommending you to all my friends and going to see you again in the Urmston area!'

4th February 2012 - 5th Element at The Crown, Chorley
A great gig - in spite of the elements! (geddit?!)

'Well, we had a night off from gigging ("thank god") and we had plans to go & check some other bands out, but as we all know the snow got the best of quite a few North West bands so we had a look to see who was playing locally and lo & behold "5th Element" were playing in Chorley! I thought they might cancel, as the roads were really bad, but when we got there the gig was well underway. The Crown has recently come under new management & previously always had Irish folk bands on a Friday night, so a rock band on a Saturday night is a bit of a new one. So putting all these "elements" (pun, lol!) together with the snow and everything, we weren't expecting much of a crowd. But, in the face of audicity, they put on a great show & had a good reception from quite a few more people than I for one was expecting! If the weather hadn't been so bad, there would have been even more in. Our bassist was really impressed with the sound, and I was really impressed with the way the band pulled out all the stops despite the pub not filling up properly until the end and really went for it throughout. Rebell yell in particular blew me away - a very very entertaining band.'

29th January 2012 - 5th Element at The Oddfellows Arms, Eccles
A symbiotic infective-ness! Brilliant night!

'This band were really 'on it' last night - it was a really good night! The band, as usual, were great but the interaction with the crowd was particularly good. The band and the audience both enjoyed themselves, there was a symbiotic infectiveness! Really good band, go and see them!'

21st August 2011 - 5th Element at the Cricketer's, Shaw (Oldham)
Top night with a Top Band-Most Excellent Times!

Always a pleasure to see the 5th Element crew-damn fine Musos and damn fine people. Good fun all round and some Most Excellent Tunes that had the Crickie’s rockin’ and dancing all night. Good, also, to welcome the Aces’n’Eights M.C.C in-hope we’ll see more of you at future gigs-Top People.

Ann, Neil (“Man Hug”), Rocker, Innuendo, and Neil (Nelly) gave us their usual polished and tight show with Ann on fine vocal form-I (almost) even enjoyed their cover of The Darkness tune “I believe in a thing called Love”-at least Ann can legitimately hit those high notes without sounding like Kenneth Williams on helium!!

With a good mixture of Rock and Blues numbers, Element are, in my view, one of THE Bands to see on the circuit. Good Stuff.

I am honoured to call them “Friend” and the Cricketer’s is always enhanced by their presence. As it should be. Hell yeah!!

- Viking, 5th Element fan and legendary rocker!

9th July 2011 - 5th Element at The Hindley Arms, Hindley
A little bit of a 'Ladies Night' in and around Hindley last night

'Now, I've long been curious about women singing 'men's' songs. I mean, Stevie Nicks singing Stevie Nick's songs and Pat Benatar singing Pat Benatar songs is one thing, but Stevie Nicks singing Guns 'n' Roses? Pat Benatar singing AC/DC?

So me n R kid n John (from Phoenix) met up at The Hindley Arms at about 8.15pm last night as 5th Element were setting up. I (finally) got to meet Ann and the boys (well, I'd met Richard 'Innuendo' already)........

[Reviewer went to see Gypsy, another great female fronted rock band, at another pub in Hindley for their first half, then came back to see the second half of 5th Element's show]

....Caught the last 2 mins of 5th Elements last song, got a beer (Lightfoot, mmmmmmm)....then it was full on rock.

Now, do you remember me wondering about Pat Benatar singing AC/DC? How about 'Thunderstruck'?

Well, Ann certainly can! With Neil, Dave, Richard and Neil pumping out the tunes, she took a very appreciative Hindley Arms audience on a journey that stopped off at pure rock, a litle bit of blues and all the way to the indie of 'All the Small Things'.

This is a band more than comfortable with each other and the instruments they play. I don't think I can pick anything here - well, okay, the sound was maybe a little bit 'flat' at times, but then. we were at the back of the pub and I was a little bit 'pissed'!

Over an hours worth of pure entertainment, and an end that I won't spoil for you if you haven't seen this band yet.......

I have been trying to see 5th Element for over a year now, and I wasn't disappointed - well worth the wait!

Had a good chat with the band over chicken and chips after the show and they are just such nice guys (and a gal!)

Another top evening in Hindley and here's to many more to come....!!!

Love to all - especially Gypsy and 5th Element'

- Alyerpal, Drummer with ace North West band Kingpin and all round splendid chap

Don't forget to post on Facebook when you have the dates for the new gig in Mold... Dont wanna miss that.. Nothing in the world will keep the Mold Mentals from attending the next gig... Love you guys, and keep on rockin'!'

7th May 2011 - 5th Element at The Jolly Nailor, Atherton
5th Element Last Night Have Restored My Faith In NWB!

'Lovely People, Fantastic Musicians And Very Entertaining.

I lost the toss last night so I did the wheels for the missus, who after 3 large glasses of white wine at The Jolly Nailor was in her "Element" watching one of our fave bands.

Three new tunes (or was it four) in the first set were great to hear. (We've seen the Elements a lot)

The second set was welcomed by a mass of customers, who by then were really up for it! And the band were up to 7th gear in response, playing their Classic Rock to the highest level.

I lost count of the encores and they could have easily played 3 or 4 more because the Nailor crowd didn't want them to stop.

To Ann, Dave, Nelly and Neil, thanks yet again for a Rockin' Top Night!

All our love,

Rick & Anne. xxxxxx - a kiss each.

ps: Bad Horsie Mick asked me to lick your face Ann but I forgot? lol.'

- Rick, Drummer from the 45s and all round rock-god!

3rd April 2011 - 5th Element at The Cricketers, Shaw
A cracking night of RAWWK'n'Roll for all to savour!

'With a Prog Rock version of “Running Wild” as a sound check, bass players sweeping the stage with a yard brush, an air guitaring Viking making further use of said yard brush, trying to convince people he was playing a Strat, and a somewhat inebriated ex drummer (me!) slaughtering the chords on the bass lines during a rocking tune - not forgetting Pete Townsend style windmilling on “Won’t get Fooled Again “ - it was a night of Fun, Frolics, Madness and Mayhem with the Most Excellent 5th Element last night in the Cricketer’s.

It should not be missed, however, that this most enjoyable evening was based on a platform of solid, tight and focussed playing from Musos totally on top of their game, producing quality covers that had a well attended Crickie’s rocking all night. This morning my head hurts, my neck is stiff and I have absolutely no idea how or when I got home-as it should be.

Major appreciation to Ann, Neil, Rocker, Neil H., and Richard (Innuendo) for a night to remember for all the right reasons. Hell Yeah!!'

- Viking, 5th Element fan and legendary rocker!

19 September 2010 - 5th Element at the Fox and Goose , Southport
A rockin` good night!

'Finally managed to catch 5th Element live, last night at the Fox and Goose .

I spend most of my time ferrying our lads around, so dont get to see too many covers bands.

I wasn't sure what to expect, especially with only a small crowd in early on in the evening. These guys obviously know the score, though, and by the time they took to the stage at around 10.45pm, the place was filling up nicely.

Straight away they had the place bouncing with their Cult , AC/DC , and ZZtop covers. The band has real energy and enthusiasm, and soon got the crowd joining in and making loads of noise. It was great to see vocalist Ann belting out each song with great energy - and really giving it everything. I like the fact that they're a five piece - you can't beat the fuller two guitar sound - and love to see a frontman/woman "owning" the stage without the restrictions of other duties...

Things really took off in the second half, and the more up to date stuff such as Nirvana, Blink 182 and Muse seemed to go down particulaly well, as did the antics of wandering guitarist, Neil.

The band finished with a well deserved encore of Rebel Yell to round off a fantastic show... All in all a great night out - If you havent seen them yet, I can honestly recommend them.'

- Colin, from the band 'Wasted Age' (previously Innuendo)

18 July 2010 - Last night with 5th Element

Hindley crowd treated to a fantastic night of rock!

'A big thank you to Ann and the boys from 5th Element. A great crowd showing their appreciation to a great band. I think they would have let you carry on playing until the sun came up. This band is a must to see if you haven't already and other venues out there - get them booked.'

- Dave and Dee, landlords of The Hindley Arms, Hindley

20 June 2010 - Blackpool rock(ed) last night!

Not a review, more a big thanks to two top bands!

'Busy night last night with two top venues both putting on arguably two of the best female fronted bands from NWB.

First stop The Eddy to catch up with 5th Element. Ann and the lads were on top form last night, in fact many of the regulars having seen the band before commented on how they seem to get better and better with each gig. Was good to have a natter with Ann, Neil, Richard, Nelly and Rocker in the break (Hey, thanks so much for the t-shirt, it will get its first outing next week at The Old Bank Inn!).I would loved to have caught the whole set, but with Rick and The 45's playing down the road, I had to miss most of the awesome second set.....

....Two top notch gigs, from 9 of my fave muso's all in one night- result. Thanks guys (and gals). catch you all again soon!'

- Keef Yates, Manager of the band Happy Daize

25 May 2010 - What A Weekend!

'It was an amazing Friday with 5th Element - boy, did they did deliver! Ann and the boys were on top form -they got everyone going and the punters loved it!'

- Mary, landlady of The Jolly Naylor

05 April 2010 - Big thanks to 5th Element!

'Sat saw the return of 5th Element with a much busier pub and true bank holiday atmosphere. Always loved this band and after their performance on Saturday I can honestly say that they are top of our league!!!!! Fantastic night of music and pure entertainment at its best.....and yes customers were dancing on chairs and tables (honestly!) and we even had a few strippers!!!!! Must admit tho, I did panic a bit when Ann anounced the finale should include a full pub strip off lol........ Brilliant night from a brilliant band.'

- Jackie, landlady of The Old Bank Inn, Blackpool

04 April 2010 - 5th Element at The Old Bank Inn
A customers verdict!

'Two nights running I had the pleasure of watching an NWB band down at The Old Bank Inn Blackpool.

Last night was the turn of 5th Element to entertain the regulars, the not so often seen and some of the holiday makers. And entertain they most certainly did. These guys ( and Ann) had the crowd eating out of here hands all night (Jackie, get some paper plates LOL). with their music and 'on stage' antics. Highly entertaining, Highly amusing and probably the best fun to be had in Blackpool with your clothes on. Tho I did miss the topless stuff going on in one corner of the room!!

Rocker was having a small issue with his amp/leads, but you would never have known, apart from that a flawless performance that ended way too soon. Neil wandering around the place, on the bar, the pool table, sitting on the balustrade looking for all the world like a garden gnome on steriods, Innuendo, well, What can I say? The widest grin in NWB Land, Rocker solid rhythm and looks more like Steve Howe everytime I see him perform, Nelly at the back often obscured keeping it all tight and Ann, sometimes sultry, sometimes ballsy but always rockin.

One of those bands that I would recommend every one go watch.

Many thanks each for a great night, guys.'

- Keef Yates, Manager of the band Happy Daize

14 March 2010 - 5th Element at The King Edward VII, Blackpool
It's Elementary - Well it was 5th Element, actually...

'Big thanks to the band for a real rocked up night of fun, frolics and raaaaawk at The House Of Rock last night.

Good appreciative crowd of folks in last night to witness a truly awesome night of classic rock belted out by a great band. From start right through to the end, Ann and the lads had the crowd eating out of their hands, singing along, cheering , even 'moshing' to a feast of full-on classic rock. Difficult to highlight any part of the gig as being memorable, the whole night was full of top tunes, crazy antics and a level of interaction with the crowd that has to be seen to be believed.

So, Ann, Nelly, Neil, Rocker and Innuendo, take a well deserved bow, and accept the many good comments that came back to me from last nights Eddy Rock fans!'

- Keef Yates, Manager of the band Happy Daize

21 February 2010 - Review of 5th Element at The Plough, Chorley, last night

'I've been looking forward to seeing these guys for a long time, and I wasn't disappointed.

Ann and the boys were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. Ann has one of the best female voices I've heard in a very long time, and a lot of stage presence! Their setlist totally catered to my own personal taste!

Despite there being only a small crowd they gave 110% and put on one hell of a show, especially at the end. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and can't wait to see them again and again and again and again lol!

Thanks Ann and boys for a great night! Hope to see u all again soon xx'

- Jeni, a 5th Element fan!

30 January 2010 - 5th Element at The Wheatsheaf, Copull

'Me, Chris the drummer and Kelvin our road manager went to watch 5th Element last night, we thought they were a very tight band (well, they never bought us a drink all night, only joking, lol!) They really were a very tight band, you could tell they have been together for a while, faultless performance. Ann was saying she had a sore throat but she sounded fine to us. It was a very enjoyable night with very good entertainment, 5th Element were a very good band and a good bunch of people too, and does`nt ann sound posh! Anyway, if you have'nt seen them yet go and see them - you won't be disappointed!'

- Tony, from the band Off The Rails

20 September 2009 - 5th Element @ The Fiveways

'I've been promising Ann for a while that I'd go and see her and the boys do their thing after my failed attempt to see them at The Wheatsheaf a few weeks back. Well, tonight they were fairly local to me at The Fiveways in Stockport, so I thought it would be rude not to pop and see them.

I got to the venue about 10 mins before the band were due to start, introduced myself and had a quick ciggie with one of the guys and then they were on. The crowd was too tough to call. Some young uns, some rockers, some locals and plenty of family and friends (always the harshest critics!). A fairly decent crowd of about 40-50 people, all paying attention.

For those not familiar with 5th Element, they play rock of the classic variety interspersed with more modern rock tracks. A 5 piece band with a female vocalist, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass and drums.

From the off, you sensed that these guys and gal knew what they were doing. A very polished sound; strong vocals and thumping bass with drums right in the mix and guitars pitched just right. A few tweaks required here and there, but overall it was good, with everything coming at just the right levels.

Track after track, the band solidly delivered. Through AC/DC, Billy Idol, The Kinks, Bon Jovi and even Nirvana and Blink 182. Ann has a fantastic set of lungs on her - and (possibly a first for me) there's no innuendo behind that. Boy, can she sing! And she's got the patter too. The audience were lapping it up. And the band seemed to enjoy the night too. Too often nowadays you see bands just 'going through the motions'....not with these guys. If I'd spotted a tambourine, I swear I'd have been up there with them, so infectious was their enthusiam. Two encores and people still calling for more should tell you all you need to know about the crowds reaction.

Well played, guys. Top, top gig and a really nice bunch of people too. I hope I get to see them again soon.

8.5/10 (maybe a 9 if you'd played Thunderstruck all the way through you big teases!)

Much love.'

- Asa, from the band Social Tornado
